Ranworth Vegetarian Guesthouse

Location and atmosphere

Ravenscar is a guesthouse located 200 metres above sea level at the south end of the sweep of Robin Hood's Bay. It is a place of peace and tranquillity. The nearby cliffs are home to many sea birds, and offer magnificent coastal scenery. Ranworth is a Victorian villa built in 1895 of locally quarried stone.

Facillities

There are four double bedrooms; all rooms have space for a cot and a highchair. For children there is a playroom at the attic filled with toys and books, and a large garden with summer house. Ranworth offers exclusively vegetarian and vegan wholefood, using own recipes and many organic ingredients; special diets are catered for. It is also possible to get a full body holistic massage, using aromatherapy oils to aid your relaxation (please book in advance). Also self-improvement courses are run twice a year.

Surroundings and activities

There are beautiful walks from the house - through moorland, along coastal paths, across the beach and down quiet country lanes, something to suit everyone's needs. The National Trust Coastal Centre at Ravenscar is well maintained and provides you with information on local features and aspects of the National Trust. Wildflowers are plentiful, as are coastal walks with absolutely stunning views and lovely beaches. The Bempton and Ravenscar Cliffs are a haven for seabirds.
