Manor Barn
Manor Barn is a working organic farm situated in the pastoral countryside of Norfolk, down a quiet lane which leads to a small river, and a small lake. It has an old, traditional barn with inner courtyard and annexes and nearly one hectare of property. In the converted barn and a recently built straw-bale house lives the extended family of Robyn, who does the gardening, Rob, who is a carpenter and a builder, Tess who is a teacher and Will who is a garden designer. The family runs the farm, whenever possible helped by volunteers such as WWOOFers. They grow their own organic vegetables, have woodland and chickens. The family sells its own organic products.
You can pitch your tent in the orchard or woodland. There are four pitches of which two are suitable for caravans. Bathroom facilities are in the house of Rob and Robyn. For rent is a big Sahara Bell tent, which sleeps up to six persons. A ground-sheet, rugs, sheepskins and a basic, foam matress will be provided.
Snetterton is surrounded by forests, lakes and rivers. The area is perfect for cycling, walking, horse riding and bird watching. Bikes and horses are for rent in the surroundings. The nearby Thetfor Forest is a nature park, as is the Santon Downham Bird Trail, home of for instance the woodlark, snipe, the nightjar and nightingale. Further you can visit lovely historical cities like Thetford, Diss and Norwich. The owners have lots of detailed information about the surroundings available for you.
