Wooda Farm

Location and atmosphere

Wooda Farm is a 16th century organic farm situated in Cornwall, near the Atlantic Ocean (2 miles). The farm is 8 hectares, has no immediate neighbours and provides peace and seclusion in an environment of great natural beauty. The farm grows vegetables and fruit which is for sale, together with eggs and organic lamb meat. The livestock consists of sheep, chickens, a horse and a mule. A wind turbine gives green electricity and spring water comes from the own well. The land rises up above the house for views to the Atlantic Ocean and Dartmoor, below the house through woods is a fast-flowing stream. There is a great variety of wildlife habitats on the farm.

Facillities

Seven people can be accommodated in the farmhouse (full board with organic food) in one of the four guest rooms, while they use the barn and the stable for workshops, courses or projects. The barn and the stable have been rebuilt into a studio annex auditorium that can be used for a variety of creative purposes. Gary and Max are both fine cooks and you are guaranteed some exiting cooking with the use of fresh and local products, both vegetarian and meat or fish. For rent is also a traditional cottage for four persons on a basis of self catering. It has a wood-burning stove and a sheltered terrace. The accommodation is child friendly, gay friendly and animal friendly. You can take part in the daily work and you can ask for a tour around the farm.

Surroundings and activities

Four large pastures are bordered by Cornish banks and hedgerows. From these fields the land drops down steeply through an old apple orchard and mixed woodland to wildflower meadows and the stream. Buzzards, butterflies and badgers abound. Guests can walk to the beach (3 km), which at low tide is a glorious stretch of sand with smooth shale rocks creating numerous pools and high cliffs. Other places of interest nearby are Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Tintagel Castle, Dartmoor, Boscastle, Bude and Padstow.
