Florence Court - Rose Cottage
Florence Court Estate is one of the most important houses in Ulster, built in the mid 18th century. Rose Cottage is a pretty cottage situated in the idyllic surroundings of the walled garden on the Florence Court, just eight miles from the town of Enniskillen. It is owned by the National Trust and has a spectacular setting amongst the mountains and forests of west Fermanagh. This is a place to fill your lungs with clean Irish air.
For guests there is a luxury cottage fitted out to the highest standard, sleeps up to five persons and is specially adapted for the less able-bodied. It has views over the peaceful garden. Downstairs you find the kitchen, dining room with a chair bed suitable for use by a wheelchair user, sitting room with open fire and an adapted shower room with a separate adapted lavatory. Upstairs are two bedrooms (one double and one twin) and bathroom with shower and bath.
There are extensive walks in the grounds as well as a Sawmill. Fine woodland, parkland, garden walks with stunning views over the lakes. Both gentle and strenuous hill walking opportunities are found at Cuilcagh and the Marlbank Nature Reserve; Marble Arch Caves are wonderful places to visit, as is Boa Island with its fascinating statues and Celtic stone formations. An inspirational place for bird-watching, painting and photography.
