This biodynamic cattle farm is situated in ‘De Schermer’, one of the oldest polders of the Netherlands. At this farm they work as environmental friendly as possible when it comes to protecting nature, taking care of the animals and food-production. Since 2005 the farm is the proud owner of the Demeter-certificate, the Dutch label for biodynamic farming. The farm owns 110 cows (young cattle inclusive), 100 sheep and 30 chicken.

The camping-area of 0,3 ha is next to the farm and is surrounded by a hedge and by trees. There are 15 pitches for tents and caravans. The renewed sanitary facilities are situated in the roofed-in barn at the edge of the campsite. There is a recreation room containing a table-tennis table for rainy days. There is a chalet for rent for two to four persons. There is also a shop where organic products are for sale, like milk, eggs, beef and lamb. The shop is open daily for camping-guests.

In the surroundings you can make various cycletours in the old polders. If you like you can visit a number of mills and ancient pumping stations with antique steampumps. Also there are plenty of possibilities for canoeing and going by boat. You can make a trip by whisper boat through nature reserve De Eilandspolder. The camping is centrally located; the cities of Alkmaar, Hoorn, Purmerend and Amsterdam offer countless possibilities for going out.
