Many interesting natural reserves, thermal baths and archeological sites are in the neighbourhood surrounding. Elba and the other little islands of the Tuscan archipelago are easy to reach. The 30 ha. organically cultivated farm (ICEA), is on a hill among olive-groves, orchards, fields and woods, with a nice view over the valley of Cecina as far as the sea.

Le Serre offers farm accommodation in a separate building, both for short and longer periods in small fiats of 35 or 40 sq.m. all at ground floor level and with garden facilities. Each fiat comprises: living-room with two sofà-beds and cooking area, bed room with double bed, fully-fitted bathroom with shower. In some periods of the year the farm offers a restaurant service. The kitchen, with mostly bio products, is available for breakfast and dinner only upon request.

The environment offers many opportunities for pleasant wals through the Tuscan countryside; along trails in the woods or in the pineforest along the coast. The sea is a mere 10 kilometres away with lovely sandy beaches. Close by there are mediaeval and picturesque villages, and not far away artistic cities such as Volterra, San Gimignano, Siena, Pisa and Florence to visit. In the nearby village of Riparbella 4 km. away or in Cecina, 8 km., you can find every kind of service such as shops, banks, chemists and typical Tuscan restaurants and pizzerias.
