Camping Agrituristico Carso
The camping agrituristico Carso (Farmhouse camping Carso) is part of a family driven agricultural company situated in the heart of the Karst of Trieste, an environment rich of biodiversity because of the geographic location and in particular the geologic environment. The camping site is situated a few kilometres from Trieste and main sites with historical, cultural and naturalistic interest will allow you to spend an exciting holiday. The company, purchased by the family Quadracci-Plesnicar in 1932, covers an area of 5 hectares which includes meadows, forests and vegetables gardens by organic farming methods. To water sufficient the plants we use a system with a focus on water conservation (using only drip irrigation) and investing the crops to the various gardens, scattered in company, in compliance with the microclimate and soil of each of them.
The camping site has 10.000 sq.m. and is characterized by a forest of oak and ash, that will guarantee nice large shadow places, all provided with an electrical connection. Around the camping are biological gardens of our agricultural family company, where our clients, if they wish so, can take their own vegetables like tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, pepperoni, aromas and also seasonal fruits. In the camping shop it is possible to buy also tipical local products like wine and honey. Inside the camping place are a swimming pool, a playground, barbecue area and relaxation room with WiFi.
The Karst is a rocky plateau that embraces Trieste and covers most of the eastern part of Friuli Venezia Giulia and extending beyond the old border, in Slovenia. An area of great ecological importance, both for its particular geology for the flora and fauna that characterize it. As well as by an exceptional beauty, the Karst is characterized by the presence of many points of historical and cultural interest: paleontological and archeological sites, typical villages perfectly integrated in the environment of the Karst and numerous fortifications of the Great War are the testimonies of the eventful past of this fascinating border. The hinterland offers typical products of high quality: in addition to the wines, particularly whites as Vitovska and Malvasia, the extra virgin olive oil of the Carso is greatly appreciated by connoisseurs, as are also cheeses and honey.
